MCAC Sets Sights on 2010 Campaign
posted by: MPAC
The Board of Directors of the Maricopa Campaign for Arts and Culture has determined that its best opportunity for success is through the development and implementation of a campaign for dedicated public funding for arts and culture organizations in the 2010 general election. The decision to target the 2010 election rather than the upcoming 2008 general election is based on a number of factors including the current economic downturn, fundraising requirements, and the belief that an effective campaign will require more strategic planning and interface with critical constituencies than is possible in the months leading to November 2008. The MCAC board is fully pledged to the success of this campaign and will take immediate steps to develop an action plan and timetable leading to November 2010. The campaign’s ultimate success will depend on the active engagement and support of the region’s arts and culture community and other concerned stakeholders.
